Original Designs

Inspiration

I want to use a mixture of swiss design, traditional Korean art, disco art work, and appropriated graphics in the style of stereolab’s artwork. I will mix Hangul with English fonts in the style of sans serif, with large amounts of negative space for legibility.

Logotype Refresh

Higher contrast color choices for logo to improve visibility and visual harmony, forgoing the stroke outline to boost visibility at the cost of looks.

Iconography

The Korean Tiger is an enduring symbol of Korean culture taking on many meanings from resilience and protection to more comical depictions in folklore.

Typography

Large and rounded type signifies a bold yet approachable style and flavor. Paired with the rounded hand written-style hangul further signify approachability and a handmade touch.

Color Palette

Red, Green, and Orange-brown represent Gochujang, Ssamjang, and Doenjang respectively, retaining the color system for those already familiar. While adding bright yello as a highlight color and a warm beige with a stark black for higher contrast.
